Lufthansa will buy 170 planes for the sum of 14 billion euro

German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG plans to direct 14 billion euro on purchase of more than 170 planes within the nearest five years. Such information has been given by Lufthansa’s corporate director.
According to this application, the company will buy fifteen planes Airbus A-380, twenty planes Boeing 747-800, sixty eight planes Airbus A-320, ten planes Airbus A-340-600, 14 planes Airbus A-330-300, thirty planes Embrier 190 and fifteen planes Bombardier Srg-900.
On results of this financial year the company expects to gain the net profit at the rate of 1,3 billion euro.
Deutsche Lufthansa AG is the largest airline in the Europe and the sixth on size airline in the world. Lufthansa’s aircraft depot possesses more than 330 aircrafts. Within the last year the volume of passenger traffic has made 53,4 million people. In 2006 net profit of airline has grown on 77,3 % - up to 803 million euro, the proceeds have made 19,85 billion euro.
During the last 9 months of 2007 net profit of air carrier has increased almost in 4 times - up to 1,58 billion euro in comparison with 414 million euro of last year’s parameter. Thus the proceeds have made 16,4 billion euro, that is on 11 % above the same parameter for July-September 2006. The operational profit has grown on 59,2 % and has reached 1,1 billion euro against 691 million euro, received in 2006.
Lufthansa takes the leading position among the foreign airlines, which are carrying out the flights to Russia and the CIS countries. The carrier offers 200 direct flights a week from 18 CIS cities to Germany and then - to 192 items worldwide.
