Kraft Foods will buy cookies manufacture at Danone for € 5,3 billion
30 October 2007Company Kraft Foods, the second-largest food stuffs manufacturer in the world, has signed the agreement on purchase of on cookies manufacturing division with the largest world manufacturer of yoghurts Group Danone.
The price of the transaction will make 5,3 billion euro. Danone Board of directors has approved it. Nevertheless the transaction requires approval by the French authorities. The companies hope to accomplish it by the end 2007.
Kraft Foods makes and sells production in 155 countries of the world. Cheese Kraft, cream cheese Philadelphia, coffee Jacobs and Maxwell House, Carte Noire, cookies and crackers Nabisco, potato chips Estrella, and also chocolate Toblerone, Mozart and Milka are the most known trade marks.
during six months of 2007 net profit of the company has decreased on 16,5 % - up to 1,41 billion dollars (0,87 doll./share) in comparison with 1,69 billion dollars (1,02 doll./share), received for the similar period year earlier.
French Group Danone is the world’s largest yoghurts’ manufacturer. The sales volume of the company for 9 months of current year has grown on 4,4 % - up to 11,24 billion euro. In III quarter, 2007, Danone’s proceeds have increased on 3,7 % and have made 3,69 billion euro. In 2007 the company management marks substantial growth of demand by dairy products in the world.
