Boeing has postponed delivery of the first Dreamliner till December 2008
11 October 2007Boeing Co., the largest Aircraft constructing company in the USA, has postponed delivery of the first liners of model Boeing 787 Dreamliner for 6 months - till December 2008.
This decision is connected with proceeding difficulties, which the aviamanufacturer has faced at of new planes assembly.
Nevertheless, the company considers that carry of first Dreamliner delivery terms will not affect its financial parameters for the remained period 2007 and will not lower the forecast of the company by financial results on 2008.
Let’s remind, Boeing has presented new air liner Boeing 787 Dreamliner in the beginning of July, 2007. According to the experts, creation of the new plane is a revolutionary event in history of aircraft construction.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner is made of modern composite materials on the basis of carbon fibres, instead of metal that will allow it to save up to 20 % of fuel in comparison with similar liners. Boeing has received 677 applications from the various companies from all world on deliveries of planes Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The first test flight of a new air liner should have taken place in September 2007, and contract deliveries should be started in May 2008. The right of the first flight was received by the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways, which has ordered 50 liners at once.
The price of the new plane makes 150 million dollars.
