Hundreds Peruvians require medical service
20 September 2007More than 200 people in Peru have addressed to doctors in result of the indispositions caused by falling of a large meteorite in the field of Puno near to border with Bolivia. Such application has been made today by the director of the Health Ministry in the Puno region, Jorge Lopez.
According to Lopez, indispositions are caused by the poisonous evaporations, which have risen in air after meteorite falling. More than a thousand of people are living in the area of falling. It is expected, that this week scientists of Institute of geophysics of Peru will lead analyses of substance of a meteorite and will present the report on the incident.
Let’s remind, that meteorite has fallen last Saturday. As it has been reported by eye-witnesses, they have heard strong noise then have seen the object captured by a flame, which has fallen to the ground and has blown up. In the result of explosion the crater in 30 meters width and 6 meters of depth was formed.
The first messages that inhabitants of neighboring villages began to complain of a headache, vomiting and problems with breath, have began already on the next day after the meteorite falling. Now the group of doctors is sent to the area of incident for treatment of victims.
