Britain has entered a voluntary interdiction on export of meat

On August, 4th the Great Britain has declared that it enters a voluntary interdiction on export of animals and cattle-breeding production in connection with flash of aphthous fever. Such information has been given by Associated Press, referring to the application of the ministry of protection of the reflecting environment, the foodstuffs and concerning agricultural development. The interdiction concerns animals, ink, and meat, milk and inures immediately.
However, later the press-secretary of Eurocommission has specified that on August, 6th, 2007, the European Commission has accepted the extreme decision on interdiction of export of all kinds of animals, meat and dairy production from area, where flash of aphthous fever has been fixed.
Thus it has been noted, that from all other parts of the Great Britain the interdiction on export only animals will be entered, and it will not mention export of meat and dairy products. These measures will not also concern to Northern Ireland.
Thus, on the territory of the country any movement of large horned livestock and pigs are forbidden.
During first epidemic of aphthous fever in 2001, more than 4 million goals of large horned livestock have been exterminated in the Great Britain. Aphthous fever is harmless to people, however, it can cause a mass case of artiodactyls animals.
Let’s note, that today Japan and the USA have entered the interdiction on import of meat from the Great Britain.
