US Catholic Church will pay $600 million for harassments
Catholic diocese of Los Angeles and representatives of its insurance companies will pay the sum from 600 up to 650 million dollars to claimants. In result of this each claimant will receive the sum of about 1,3 million dollars.
The Catholic diocese of archbishop of the USA in Los Angeles will pay at least 600 million dollars on numerous affairs about sexual harassments. Such information has been given by Associated Press agency on Saturday.
The announcement of this agreement between a Catholic diocese and the claimants, who are passing on more than 500 affairs about sexual harassments from priests, is planned on Monday, on July, 16th.
As it has been informed to the agency on conditions of anonymity, a Catholic diocese of Los Angeles and representatives of its insurance companies will pay the sum from 600 up to 650 million dollars to claimants.
Promulgation of confidential personal files of clerics which have been made from the moment of the beginning of proceeding is also planned.
More than thousand messages on sexual harassments concerning minors from clerics, acted in US Catholic church on results of check for last two years.
