Angela Merkel has called for equality of France and Germany in EADS

German Chancellor Angela Merkel supports preservation of balance between French and German actives in European space concern European Aeronautics Defence and Space Co. (EADS).
In her last interview to German mass-media Angela Merkel has declared that France and Germany possess equal share holdings in EADS that helps to keep effective structure of management. Then the chancellor of Germany has added that they wish to have the equal rights with France.
As Reuters transfers, on July, 16th, 2007, Angela Merkel will meet the president of France in Toulouse, where the leaders of two countries will discuss the future strategy of management by concern EADS.
The government of France possesses 15 % of EADS’ shares, German-American concern DaimlerChrysler AG -15 %, French company Lagardere - 7,5 %, and Spanish holding company Sepi - 5,5 %.
Let’s note that European space agency EADS has recently collided with crisis of aviation division Airbus, in particular because of delays with deliveries of planes of series Đ?-380.
In the I quarter of 2007 pure losses of EADS have made 10 million euro, whereas year earlier the company has received net profit at a rate of 522 million euro for the similar period. For overcoming crisis in Airbus the plan of re-structuring Power8 has been developed, providing reduction 10 thousand of workers, and 4,1 thousand for overcoming - in France.
Airbus is the transnational aviabuilding company, which structure includes the design and industrial centers, located in France, Germany, the Great Britain and Spain, and also its own affiliated companies in the USA, China and Japan. Except for EADS firm BAE Systems is also Airbus’ shareholder. In 2006 proceeds of Airbus has made nearby 26 billion euro.
