Trade balance of Russia has decreased on 18 %

In January-May 2007, positive tendency of Russia’s trading balance  has decreased on 18,6 % in comparison with January-May 2006 and has made 51,5 billion dollars Such data are resulted in monitoring a current situation in economy of the Russian Federation for January-May 2007, prepared by Russian foreign Trade Ministry.
According to an estimation of the ministry, this decrease became the result of significant excess of rates of growth of import (40,1 %) above rates of growth of export (8,7 %).
in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year delay of export growth rates is basically caused by reduction of export of the fuel and energy goods.
According to foreign trade department, in January-May 2007, the volume of export of the Russian Federation has made128,9 billion dollars, import - 77,4 billion dollars. Thus, in January-February 2007, the foreign trade turnover of Russia (on methodology of the balance of payments) has made 206,3 billion dollars, that is On 18,7 % above a level of the corresponding period in 2006, including the countries of the far abroad - 175 billion dollars (growth on 17,4 %), the CIS countries - 31,3 billion dollars (growth on 26,9 %). In total amount of commodity circulation on a share of export made 62,5 % and  import - 37,5 % were necessary.
