Israel’s President has plead guilty to sexual harassment charges

The president of Israel Moshe Katsav has struck a bargain with justice. He has recognized his fault in sexual harassments, but he has achieved removal of charges in rape.
Thus, Moshe Katsav will not leave imprisonment for obscene actions concerning employees of own administration. However, he nevertheless should pay monetary indemnifications to claimants and to retire.
Formally Moshe Katsav remains the President of Israel; however he has resigned for the period of investigation of business about rape. According to the Constitution term of his powers expires on July, 15th, however now it is obvious, that he will not work till the last day presidencies.
Katsav’s four ex-employees act with charges in rape and sexual harassments against Moshe Katsav - the 61-year-old father of five children. Scandal, during which the police some times interrogated the president, has begun and searches have been lead to his residences.
Observers mark, that sexual scandal in Israel has inflamed right after military operation against radical grouping “Hezbollah” in Lebanon, which, according the general opinion, has been lead extremely unsuccessfully. Having faced enough greater losses, the Israeli army has not managed to execute the primary goals and has been compelled to transfer the borrowed territories to peacemakers and soldiers of Lebanon’s governmental army.
