26 April 2007

The court of the Italian city Modena, where Ferrari head office is located, has charged two former workers of this company in industrial espionage. According to the representative of the charge, two Ferrari employees Mauro Iacconi and Angelo Santini worked in the company till 2002. Then they have left firm and send to company Toyota. However, before the dismissal Mauro and Angelo have copied files with the confidential information on Ferrari development in the field of Ferrari Formula One bolid designing, which have been subsequently transferred to representatives of the Japanese motor-car manufacturer. The obtained data have been, ostensibly, used by Japanese at creation of Toyota FT103 bolid, which was used by a command in 2003.

In the result of court’s decision it has been proved, that Mauro Iacconi and Angelo Santini have really stolen the information. Santini has been sentenced to nine months conditionally, and Iaccobi - 1 year and 4 months conditionally.
