EU against World bank
The countries of the European Union have made a decision to stop granting financial assets to the World Bank (WB) until it is headed with Paul Wolfowitz. Today such information has been represented by the British magazine “Sunday Telegraph”.
Now Paul Wolfowitz is under the threat of dismissal. The association of World Bank’s employees accuses him in provoking unreasonable promotion of his close girlfriend on more prestigious and highly paid post. As it has been mentioned in the magazine, Paul Wolfowitz has appointed his girlfriend the authorized representative of the state department and has offered her the salary at the rate of 193 thousand dollars a year. It is more, than the US state secretary Condoleeza Rice receives, having a rank of Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Last Saturday the official representative of the White House has declared, that the president of the USA Georges Bush “completely trusts” Wolfowitz. Before purpose for a post of the WB chapter he held a post of the US deputy minister of defense and taken active participation in development of decisions which have led to intrusion of the American armies into Iraq.
