EU has allocated 713 million euro to South America countries
21 April 2007European Union has allocated 713 million euro (970 million dollars) as the financial help to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Besides this, EU plans to lead a number of negotiations on strengthening trade-economic relations with these South American states.
Financial assets will be listed on the stage by stage scale within 6 years - since 2007 till 2013.
According to the approved program, Bolivia will receive 234 million euro, Colombia - 160 million euro, Ecuador - 137 million euro, and Peru - 132 million euro. The 50 million euros, which have remained, will be spent for maintenance of regional integration.
In each separate country the financial help will be directed on the various purposes. So, in Bolivia the financial help will go on struggle against unemployment, to Colombia - on struggle against drug-dealing.
It is worth of mentioning that the financial help of EU extends also on the countries - former USSR republics. So, for example, the European Union will allocate Moldova with 45 million euro assistance for maintenance of the balance of payments and realization of the governmental program of reforms.
Till 2010 Ukraine will be allocated with more than 490 million euro of support, carried out on political and economic reforms. Besides money resources will be directed on creation of the Ukrainian gas, oil infrastructure, updating of a power infrastructure and use of new power resources.
Besides, within four years EU plans to allocate Georgia from above 120 million euro for realization of neighbor’s policy of EU. These financial means will be directed on the development of democracy, formation of democratic forms of board, overcoming of poverty, social reforms and peace settlement of conflicts.
